Organized by Intel Education Initiative, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Pakistan, 2014 Intel NSEF was the scene of competition among thousands of students. A total of 80 projects were found worthy of competing in the national finals. 80 finalist projects were exhibited subsequent to having been meticulously inspected by an eminent jury.
Intel National Science Olympiad aims at encouraging secondary high students (Class 9-12) to take initiative in finding solutions to the challenges faced locally and globally by means of scientific knowledge and inventive insight.
After qualifying in district and provincial rounds, 20 out of 80 finalist projects were from PakTurk students.
In final rounds 9 of the projects were awarded with attractive prizes. Following are the students who got awards:
1-Daniyal Ahmed Memon and Ali Akbar Qureshi of PakTurk Khairpur Boys Section got awarded as Best of Category in Physics and Astronomy with their project ‘Helmet Phone’,
2-Sabaoon Khan of PakTurk Islamabad Girls Section got awarded as Best of Category in Environmental Management and Environmental Sciences with her project‘Bioremediation Technology by Using Aquatic Plants for the Treatment of Municipal Sewage’,
3-Areej Mujahid of PakTurk Lahore Girls Section got awarded as Best of Category in Computer Science with her project ‘Being Good Digital Citizens with Today's Technologies’,
4-Zoraiz Tariq of PakTurk Lahore Boys Section got awarded as Best of Category in Physics and Astronomy with his project ‘Cleaning Without a Broom’,
5-Jibran Khan of PakTurk Quetta Boys Section got awarded as Best of Category in Mathematical Sciences with his project ‘Equation Matic’,
6-Manahil Jamil, Areeba Sarooj Minhas and Rida Zehra of PakTurk Islamabad Girls Section got Society for In Vitro Biology Award in Biology with their project ‘Stone Proof Body Organs’,
7-Mahnoor Babar of PakTurk Lahore Girls Section got RICOH Sustainable Development Award in Biology with her project ‘Isolation & Characterization of Oil/Diesel Degrading Bacteria Isolated from Railway Engine’,
8- Fahad Ashraf of PakTurk Peshawar Boys Section got RICOH Sustainable Development Award in Chemistry with his project ‘A Solution For Controlling CO2 Emission’,
9- Daniyal Ahmed Memon and Ali Akbar Qureshi of PakTurk Khairpur Boys Section got National Institute of Electronics Award in Physics and Astronomy with their project‘Helmet Phone’.
