As we all know that now, PakTurk International Schools and Colleges is now one of the exam centers for the university of Cambridge ESOL examinations.
To give an overview of the Cambridge examination and its system the school organized a two day workshop i.e. on 8th and 9th Feb. 2014 for the YLE (young learner’s examinations) and the KET (Key English Tests) examination for the teachers.
The trainers were Mrs. Tina Khurshid from Lahore and Mr. Amir Bing who is the in charge of Cambridge test held in Pakistan. The trainers were simply outstanding.
February 8th 2014, was the first day of the workshop. It was for an YLE test which comprises of the three stages i.e. Starters, Movers and Flyers. The trainers after the introduction started the workshop distributed a handbook with a questionnaire among the teachers in which all the information and site addresses were mentioned to have a clear view as to how they will be preparing their students for the exams. Sample test papers were also being solved by the teachers to have a clear view of the four skills.
February 9th 2014, the day for the KET examination workshop was even as energetic and informative as the first day of the workshop. The trainers provided the teachers with the hand book and the questionnaire as for the YLS’s. The sample test papers were solved by the teachers in the same way as the students will be doing them.
In brief many questions regarding the YLE and KET test were answered. As closes up certificates were given to the teachers and the workshop ended with a very informative and a thankful note.
