On Saturday, 26th October, 2013, the fifth episode of the grand Parents School Seminar Series was presented at PakTurk Schools Islampura Branch, Lahore. The selected topic was “Child Neglect and Abuse”. It was decided that the seminar will be held at Town Hall, The Mall, Lahore. Kind permission was given by the D.C.O. Lahore to use the Hall for the occasion. Invitation Cards were sent to parents and other guests. The E.D.O (Edu.) Lahore was the Chief Guest & the Guest of Honour was the D.C.O. Lahore.
At 9:30am the program started with the name of Almighty Allah. Recitation was done by Taha Shahid and it was translated by Rafia Nasir. Then the Guests were said welcome and a beautiful Naat was presented by a group of students of class 4 & 5. Before the seminar speech some remarkable performances were presented by the students of PakTurk Islampura Branch. Then Ms. Humera Nadeem started her speech and gathered the entire attention of the audience. She guided the parents about the types of abuses and how the children are at great risk of them. She also told them that how they can avoid these risks without paying anything other than “attention”. At the end some parents asks questions which were answered and after the complete satisfaction of the parents seminar was ended. Parents were very thankful of the management for arranging such an informative and enlightening seminar. They also suggested that management should arrange these seminars for their children & other family members also and they should be arranged on Sundays so that more people could attend. Some parents who reached late due to their jobs, they were requesting to repeat this topic again. Overall it was a successful effort by the management and teachers especially by Ms. Humera Nadeem who delivered the seminar in a very impressive way.
